Amnesia The Bunker is set in “A wasteland of World War II”. The game takes place sometime in the year 1916, in or after July. At this point in the war, the Battle of Verdun had been ongoing for about five months, since 21 February, the defense, and the Somme offensive began more recently on 2 July, attacking Held Alleming’s positions. Both battles proceeded with extremely costly results for the allies (namely France and Great Britain) and the German Empire. By May, French casualties at Verdun were as high as 185,000 men, and German casualties the following month totaled around 200,000 men. 420,000 from the British and 195,000 from the French – approximately 1,265,000 casualties on both sides.

Immerse yourself in the many ways to ensure survival. As French soldier Henri Clément and armed with a revolver, a noisy dynamo flashlight and other scarce supplies, you must scavenge and craft resources along the way. With the game’s unpredictable and random behavior, no match will be the same.
