Locations and navigation
As the game is exclusive to next-gen consoles and PC, it will allow for 1:1 scale renderings of Paris and crowds numbering in the thousands. Players will be able to explore the entire city, including picture-perfect interiors and the catacombs of Paris, with landmarks like Notre-Dame having a playable interior room. Even empty buildings can have unlockable rooms with treasures inside. When standing on rooftops, a button can display 3D objects like alarm bells to help the player strategize.
Haystacks have been largely removed in favor of allowing players to control their descent from the rooftops. roofs, and the controls for going up and down are now separate. Social Stealth has been improved with a special button-activated crouch mode, and combat has been made more tactical to feel more realistic: counter kills have been removed.
Assassinations in the game are called “kill missions.” black box” and refer to the gameplay style of the first Assassin’s Creed. Contextual clues are provided to allow the player to choose and plan their own approach, rather than following a linear, pre-determined path to the target. Unlike previous games, however, an assassination is not considered successful until Arno escapes after carrying it out.
Memories
To memories, instead of the player being given a series of objectives, Ubisoft developed the Adaptive Mission Mechanic, which offers players multiple potential paths to completing a mission. For example, choosing to chase a target will lead to a chase if it detects you, rather than causing desync.
