Broforce development began April 20-23, 2012 with the Black Ships Fill the Sky team’s Rambros game as a jam entry in Ludum Dare 23.
Broforce Brototype entered Steam Greenlight on September 4, 2012 and was approved by the community on July 24, 2013 and received its last update on July 30, 2013.
Broforce pre-orders began on July 20, 2013 , giving access to the Broforce Beta using Humble Bundle on September 19, 2013. Broforce was made available on Steam Early Access on April 4, 2014 in association with publisher Devolver Digital for $14.99 (or €13.99 for Europeans) .

Campaign mode levels end when the player defeats a demonic boss, raises an American flag and leaves helicopter as the scenery explodes. The player character is referred to as a brother who parodies fictional action heroes such as John McClane from Die Hard, Cordell Walker, B.A. Broracus, Ellen Ripley from Alien or the Terminator.
The levels are made up of Destructible terrains and Doodads come with different themes and climate with endless enemies and traps.
