The game is set in alternative Miami in 1989 and revolves around the story of a man in a varsity jacket who follows mysterious instructions on his answering machine to kill everyone inside targeted locations.
Part One: Phone Calls
After a tutorial, Jacket appears in an unfamiliar apartment room, where three masked figures await him: Richard, Don Juan and Rasmus, respectively wearing a rooster mask, a horse mask and a mask. one of an owl. While Don Juan appears to have the answers about Jacket’s identity and past actions without giving them directly, Rasmus does not and displays hostility toward his presence in the room. Richard, however, claims that they have met previously and encourages Jacket to remember their first meeting on April 3, 1989.
The story then begins on April 3, when Jacket receives his first connection. A rooster mask was delivered to your door with specific instructions. He then heads to a subway station, where he kills a group of Russian mobsters, retrieves a suitcase from a man in a coat, leaves it in a dumpster and unwittingly comes across a beggar. After this, Jacket receives three more calls, asking him to attack an apartment occupied by mobsters, a drug operation in a large building and, finally, a film producer’s villa, from where he rescues a drug-addicted girlfriend.
Between each slaughter, Jacket goes to several stores, where the bearded salesman and the bartender, always the same, seem to know him and offer him food, drinks and video tapes (“for free”), showing concern for Jacket’s well-being. Jacket also collects newspaper clippings covering his attacks.
