Because of Akechi’s testimony, the woman Shido stalked earlier in the year was found, and Shido was arrested for treason. However, before New Year’s, the protagonist dreams of walking around school and hearing his friends talking about his wishes, with an illusory voice over the intercom expressing disappointment in the protagonist’s desire to leave.
