The story takes place in present-day Boston, where FBI special agent Francis York Morgan will have to revisit a case he thought was solved in 2005. Through unique stories, venture back in time to the American city Le Carré, Louisiana and discover the mysteries buried within this once peaceful town.

There is a bar in the game where alcohol is served, and the investigation (in the past) focuses on a murder case – but violence is rarely realistic. When violent acts are shown in the adventure sections, it is usually in service of the story – and the violent acts are usually more alluded to (shown with ghostly figures or camera angles disguising the details).
